Mumbai: Actress Radhika Pandit and Kannada superstar Yash are marking a special milestone in their relationship as they celebrate 10 years since their engagement.
On August 12, Radhika shared a video capturing moments from their engagement and looked back on the journey that began a decade ago. In an emotional note, she described Yash as her “favourite YES” and celebrated the love and memories they have built together.
“10 years engaged, a lifetime in love.. our favourite story, still being written. 12/8/2016. You will always be my favourite YES,” Radhika wrote, adding hashtags associated with her name.
The couple’s relationship dates back to 2007, when they first met while working together on the television series Nanda Gokula. Their friendship grew stronger as they appeared together in films, eventually developing into a romantic relationship.
Despite becoming one of Kannada cinema’s most popular couples, Radhika and Yash kept their relationship largely private for several years. They got engaged in Goa in 2016 and tied the knot later that year.
Their wedding celebrations included two separate receptions — one for close friends and family and another organised for their fans at Bengaluru Palace. The couple now have two children and have continued to maintain a relatively private family life despite their enormous popularity.
Yash, who has become one of the biggest stars in Indian cinema, began his career with television appearances during the 2000s. He made his film debut in 2007 with Jambada Hudugi and subsequently appeared in the romantic drama Moggina Manasu in 2008.
He later took on his first leading role in Rocky and gradually established himself as a major name in Kannada cinema. His breakthrough came with films such as Googly, followed by Raja Huli, Gajakesari, Mr. and Mrs. Ramachari, Masterpiece and Santhu Straight Forward.
Yash’s career reached a new level of national and international recognition with KGF: Chapter 1 and its sequel KGF: Chapter 2. The films transformed him into a pan-India star and significantly expanded the reach of Kannada cinema.
He is now gearing up for Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups, a gangster drama in which he is set to play a dual role. The film also stars Kiara Advani, Nayanthara, Huma Qureshi, Tara Sutaria and Rukmini Vasanth.
Toxic is reportedly being made on a massive budget estimated at around Rs. 500-1,000 crore, which would place it among the most expensive Indian films ever produced.
The film is centred on Raya, a powerful and ruthless gangster whose rise in the criminal underworld is eventually followed by his downfall. Years later, he is forced to confront his biological son Rumi, also known as Ticket, who seeks revenge after Raya abandoned him and his mother.
While Yash continues to build his career on a much larger cinematic canvas, Radhika’s anniversary post offered a more personal glimpse into the relationship that has remained an important part of his journey.
Ten years after saying “yes” to their engagement, the couple’s story continues to evolve — now as partners, parents and two of Kannada cinema’s most recognisable personalities.
