Former JPSC Chairman L. Khiangte Appears Before CID for Second Straight Day in 14th PT Exam Probe

Ranchi: The investigation into the alleged irregularities in the JPSC 14th Preliminary Examination has gathered pace, with the CID questioning former Jharkhand Public Service Commission (JPSC) Chairman L. Khiangte for the second consecutive day on Wednesday.

Khiangte had already undergone nearly eight hours of questioning on Tuesday. According to sources, CID officials sought clarification on several aspects of the examination process, including the handling of OMR sheets and key decisions taken by the commission during the recruitment process.

During the interrogation, the former chairman reportedly said that he had ordered an inquiry based on the information available to him at the time.

As part of the ongoing investigation, the CID has also taken possession of his passport to prevent any overseas travel until the probe is completed. The decision to summon him for a second day suggests that investigators are examining multiple angles of the case in greater detail.

The CID, however, has not issued any official statement regarding possible arrests or any further action in connection with the investigation.
