Ranchi: Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) Jharkhand spokesperson Kailash Yadav has backed the state government’s decision to order a CID investigation into the alleged irregularities in the 14th Jharkhand Public Service Commission (JPSC) examination, stating that the probe is being conducted in a transparent manner and that everyone should wait for its conclusion before drawing any conclusions.
In a press statement, Yadav criticised BJP leader Babulal Marandi, alleging that corruption and irregularities in the JPSC system began during the BJP’s tenure in power. He claimed that the commission was constituted under Marandi’s leadership after the formation of Jharkhand and that questions had also been raised over the appointment of its chairman and members.
The RJD leader further alleged that the first and second JPSC examinations, held during the tenure of former Chief Minister Arjun Munda, were also marred by allegations of large-scale irregularities and favouritism, with the matter eventually reaching the courts. Given this history, he said, BJP leaders have no moral authority to question the functioning of the commission today.
Referring to the ongoing investigation into the 14th JPSC examination, Yadav said the CID has been carrying out a serious and impartial probe. He pointed to developments such as the resignation of the JPSC chairman, arrests, and a series of raids as evidence that the investigation is progressing with transparency and determination.
He added that the RJD has consistently stood by the interests of students and young job aspirants and will continue to raise their concerns before the government. According to Yadav, the party will soon meet protesting students to understand their demands and ensure that their grievances are presented to the state government.
Accusing the opposition of politicising the issue, Yadav said it would be inappropriate to reach conclusions before the investigation is completed. He urged all stakeholders to wait for the CID’s final report before making any judgments.
