Mumbai: Actor Mihir Ahuja says the emotional relationship between his character and Prajakta Koli’s plays a key role in Operation Safed Sagar, adding depth to the military drama inspired by real events.
Speaking about working with Prajakta for the first time, Mihir said the experience was both comfortable and rewarding.
“Working with Prajakta was genuinely a lovely experience. She brings a lot of honesty and warmth to every scene, which made it very easy to build the relationship our characters share,” he said.
The actor added that their first collaboration brought a natural freshness to their performances, helping the emotional arc of the story feel authentic.
“Since this was our first project together, there was a certain freshness that naturally found its way on screen. Amidst a story rooted in war, courage and sacrifice, the emotional connections between the characters become just as important. I hope audiences connect with that journey as much as we did while filming,” Mihir said.
A source associated with the production also praised the duo’s chemistry, saying Mihir and Prajakta brought a natural warmth to their roles. According to the source, their on-screen relationship develops organically and serves as an emotional anchor within the larger backdrop of war.
Directed by Oni Sen, Operation Safed Sagar is set during the 1999 Kargil War and is inspired by the real-life story of the Golden Arrows Squadron, highlighting the courage, sacrifice and determination of those involved in one of the most significant chapters of modern Indian military history.
The series features an ensemble cast including Siddharth, Jimmy Shergill, Dia Mirza, Adil Hussain, Abhay Verma, Prajakta Koli, Mihir Ahuja, Taaruk Raina, Arnav Bhasin and Amrita Bagchi. It is scheduled to premiere globally on Netflix on August 7.
