Ranchi: The Jharkhand government has launched Vidhi Portal 2.0, a major digital initiative aimed at improving the management of government court cases through a more transparent, efficient and integrated system.
The portal was inaugurated by Advocate General Rohitashwa Roy at a programme held in the conference hall of the Jharkhand High Court. The event was attended by IT Secretary Pooja Singhal, Law Secretary Neeraj Kumar Srivastava, Senior Additional Advocate General Achyut Keshav and senior officials from various government departments.
Developed under the leadership of Chief Minister Hemant Soren, Vidhi Portal 2.0 is being seen as a significant step in Jharkhand’s digital governance journey. The platform is designed to strengthen the handling of government litigation by making case management more transparent, accountable and technology-driven.
The upgraded portal brings government departments, the Law Department, the Advocate General’s Office and government counsels onto a single digital platform. It offers features such as real-time case monitoring, automated alerts, smart workflow management and advanced analytics to ensure timely decision-making and effective representation in courts.
More than 20 new features have been added in the latest version, including integration with the e-Courts system, smart cause lists, daily and weekly case digests, an executive dashboard, centralised notice management and a mobile application. The government also plans to incorporate artificial intelligence-based legal analysis in future updates.
Speaking at the launch, Advocate General Rohitashwa Roy said the portal would play a crucial role in improving the management of government litigation and ensuring more effective representation before courts. IT Secretary Pooja Singhal described it as a significant milestone in promoting transparent and technology-driven governance.
To ensure the successful implementation of the portal, the government will conduct phased training programmes for officials and users across departments, enabling them to make full use of its features.
