Mumbai: Actress Kriti Sanon has revealed that maintaining the glamorous look of her character Ally in Cocktail 2 came at a cost, admitting that she was often “cranky” and “hangry” while filming the movie due to an extremely strict diet.
Speaking during the trailer launch of the film, Kriti shared that preparing for the role required one of the toughest fitness and diet regimens she has ever followed. She said the challenge became even harder because the shoot took place in Italy, a country known for its rich cuisine.
Recalling the experience, the actress said she had very little freedom when it came to food and was frequently irritable because of the demanding diet plan. She jokingly added that her co-star Shahid Kapoor could confirm how “cranky and hangry” she was throughout the shoot.
Despite the difficulties, Kriti said she now feels the effort was worthwhile, especially as audiences are responding positively to her character. She expressed happiness that viewers are connecting with Ally and said such appreciation makes the hard work feel rewarding.
Directed by Homi Adajania, Cocktail 2 promises a contemporary story filled with friendship, love, and complicated relationships. The recently released trailer offers a glimpse into an emotional and stylish journey set against a picturesque summer backdrop.
Talking about what attracted her most to the project, Kriti said the film feels modern, relatable, and visually refreshing. She described the characters as beautifully flawed and said the story presents friendship and romance through a contemporary lens. She also praised the film’s music, calling it one of its strongest elements.
