Ranchi to Get Wider PNG Network, Gas Supply Through Pipelines to Expand in New Areas

Ranchi: Residents of Ranchi may soon get relief from the regular hassle of LPG cylinders as the city prepares for a major expansion of its Piped Natural Gas (PNG) network. The facility is set to be introduced in six more areas, including Morabadi, Lalpur, Hehal, Smart City, and Mesra.

The pipeline network is being expanded rapidly, and work on laying underground gas pipelines and providing household connections is currently underway. Once completed, families will receive cooking gas directly at their homes through pipelines.

PNG is considered a safer and more convenient alternative to LPG cylinders. Consumers do not have to worry about cylinder bookings, refill delays, or sudden shortages. Another advantage is that users are billed according to their actual consumption, helping households manage gas expenses more efficiently.

The Smart City region is receiving special focus under the expansion project, with infrastructure work progressing at a fast pace to support uninterrupted gas supply in the future.

Officials believe the growing PNG network will greatly benefit people living in apartments, multi-storey buildings, and upcoming residential projects across the capital city.
