Ranchi: The Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the voter list in Jharkhand will begin from June 20, 2026. In this regard, an orientation programme and press conference for media personnel was organised at the office of the Chief Electoral Officer in Dhurwa, Ranchi, where Chief Electoral Officer K. Ravi Kumar shared detailed information about the campaign.
He said the statewide revision drive will commence on June 20, while new voters will be able to submit applications from June 30 onwards. The Election Commission aims to ensure that no eligible voter is left out of the electoral roll. Booth Level Officers (BLOs) will visit households to assist people in filling out forms. Special camps will also be organised in areas where BLOs are unable to reach.
The Chief Electoral Officer clarified that once a voter’s name appears in the draft electoral roll, it will not be removed without prior notice and a proper hearing. He said the entire process would be conducted in a transparent and rule-based manner.
To carry out the campaign effectively, the Election Commission has made extensive preparations across the state. Around 50,000 personnel, including 5 Divisional Commissioners, 24 District Election Officers (DEOs), 81 Electoral Registration Officers (EROs), nearly 340 Assistant Electoral Registration Officers (AEROs), and 22,000 BLOs, will be deployed during the exercise.
According to the Election Commission, the draft voter list will be published on August 5, 2026. Claims and objections can be submitted between August 5 and September 4. The notice phase and disposal of claims and objections will continue from August 5 to October 3, while the final voter list will be published on October 7, 2026.
