Ranchi: Bhavya Ranjan, a student of Oxford School, has made Ranchi proud by emerging as the national topper in the Arts stream of the CBSE Class 12 board examinations with an outstanding 99.8 per cent score.
Following the declaration of the results, celebrations broke out across the school campus as teachers, students and family members congratulated Bhavya on her remarkable achievement.
Bhavya secured 499 marks out of 500 and credited her success to the constant support of her parents, teachers and the disciplined academic environment of her school.
She said that the school’s special academic initiative, “Target 100”, played a major role in her preparation. Under the programme, students aiming for top scores were given daily practice assignments and regular guidance from teachers to clear difficult concepts.
According to Bhavya, the initiative helped make her studies more organised and gradually boosted her confidence.
Her father, Rajeev Ranjan, became emotional while speaking about her achievement and said that his daughter had fulfilled the family’s dream. He added that Bhavya now aims to crack the civil services examination in the future.
Bhavya also shared that studying in the same school from Class 1 to Class 12 helped her maintain consistency and focus in academics. She plans to pursue graduation and post-graduation in History while simultaneously preparing for the civil services.
Her father revealed that he had left his private-sector job to prioritise his daughter’s education and preparation. Bhavya’s mother, Bikki Gandhi, who is a teacher, also played an important role in guiding her studies over the years.
Meanwhile, the Central Board of Secondary Education announced the Class 12 board examination results on Wednesday, with an overall pass percentage of 85.20 per cent. The board also recorded a noticeable decline in the overall pass percentage compared to last year.
