Deoghar: Police have solved the robbery case at Shivam Alankar Jewellers in Buddhasah Lane under the Nagar police station area and arrested three people allegedly involved in the crime. All three accused have been sent to jail after the recovery of cash, a motorcycle and a mobile phone linked to the incident.
According to police officials, the robbery took place on May 3, 2026, around 2:30 pm. The accused allegedly pulled down the shutter of the jewellery shop, threatened the owner and snatched the locker keys before fleeing with nearly Rs 80,000 in cash.
After the incident, Nagar police registered a case and formed a special investigation team on the instructions of senior officers. Following technical surveillance and continuous raids, the police conducted a late-night operation near Nandan Pahad on May 6 and arrested all three suspects.
The arrested accused have been identified as Prashant Kumar Jha of Jagriti Nagar in Karnibag, Divyansh Ranjan Jha alias Divyansh Jha of Ambey Garden in Bawanbigha, and Saurabh Kumar of Devan Baba Gali in Karnibag area of Deoghar.
During the raid, police recovered Rs 3,100 from Prashant Kumar Jha. From Divyansh Jha, officers seized Rs 3,800 in cash and a red Hero Xtreme motorcycle bearing registration number JH-09Y-3530, which was allegedly used in the robbery. Police also recovered Rs 3,200 and an Oppo Android mobile phone from Saurabh Kumar.
The raiding team included Nagar police station in-charge Mukesh Kumar along with Mukesh Kumar Tiwari, Ghanshyam Ganzhu, Sumant Prasad, Omprakash Singh and armed police personnel. Police said further investigation in the matter is continuing.
