Jacqueline Fernandez Shares ‘Housefull’ Prank by Akshay Kumar That Left Her Shaken

Mumbai — Jacqueline Fernandez recently opened up about a prank by Akshay Kumar that genuinely scared her during the early days of her career.

Appearing on the quiz reality show Wheels of Fortune, Jacqueline recalled the incident when Akshay asked her if she had ever faced anything uncomfortable in the industry. Laughing at first, she admitted she had—and went on to narrate a memorable moment from the sets of Housefull.

She revealed that while shooting her first item song, Dhanno, she noticed heavy security on set and assumed police were present. That’s when Akshay played a prank, telling her that the police had come for her and that she might be taken to the station after the shoot.

The remark left her deeply unsettled. Jacqueline said she spent the entire shoot feeling anxious and confused, trying to figure out what she might have done wrong. “I was so scared throughout the song. I couldn’t understand what I had done,” she shared, adding that the experience felt quite traumatic at the time.

Realising the impact of his joke, Akshay later apologised. He acknowledged that while fun and pranks are part of a lively work environment, they should never cross the line or cause distress. He added that humour should only continue as long as it doesn’t hurt anyone.

The song Dhanno featured in Housefull, which also starred Arjun Rampal, Deepika Padukone, Lara Dutta, Riteish Deshmukh, Boman Irani, and Randhir Kapoor. Jacqueline appeared in a special dance number that went on to become quite popular.

Looking back, the actress now shares the story with humour, though she admits it was a nerve-wracking experience at the time.
