Patralekhaa calls out body-shaming, says ‘I just delivered a baby’

Mumbai — Actress-producer Patralekhaa has strongly criticised social media pages for body-shaming her, reminding them that she has recently given birth and deserves empathy, not judgment.

Taking to Instagram Stories, Patralekhaa addressed the scrutiny over her post-pregnancy appearance, saying the physical changes are natural after childbirth. She pointed out that her weight gain is not unusual but a normal response of the body after pregnancy.

In a firm response, she wrote that she hasn’t “sat and eaten a mountain,” adding that she has not only delivered a baby but also worked on two films simultaneously—both demanding tasks.

Urging people to be more compassionate, she said her body has simply reacted to pregnancy in its own way and called for greater kindness instead of harsh commentary.

Patralekhaa and her husband, actor Rajkummar Rao, welcomed their first child, a baby girl named Parvati Paul Rao, in November last year.

The couple’s journey began when they met on the sets of CityLights, directed by Hansal Mehta. Their on-screen collaboration soon turned into a real-life relationship, eventually leading to their marriage in November 2021.
