Mumbai: Actress Pavitra Punia is set to return to the screen in a refreshing new role as Rajni Singh in the upcoming web series Prayagraj Ki Love Story. The project not only challenged her as an actor but also gave her a chance to closely experience the culture and everyday life of Prayagraj.
Sharing insights from the shoot, Pavitra revealed that the series was filmed extensively at real locations across the city, adding authenticity to the narrative. She described the experience as deeply enriching, both professionally and personally.
The Bigg Boss 14 alum said that after long shooting schedules, the cast and crew often explored the city together. “Prayagraj Ki Love Story is my second project with Hungama OTT, and it is very close to my heart. Shooting in the actual streets of Prayagraj made every day on set special. After pack-up, we would visit local chaat joints and enjoy kulhad chai—it was pure happiness,” she shared.
A visit to the Sangam, where the Ganga meets other sacred rivers, proved especially memorable for the actress. Calling Prayagraj one of her most rewarding shooting destinations so far, Pavitra said the experience left her with countless cherished memories.
However, the journey was not without its challenges. Pavitra recalled witnessing the devastating floods that struck Prayagraj during the shoot. “I saw riverside homes getting submerged and animals struggling in the water. Because of the floods, we were unable to shoot at some temples near the river,” she said, describing the situation as heartbreaking.
The series traces the story of Anshul Singh and Sonia Shukla, a young couple whose romantic trip spirals into danger after they are deceived by a ruthless gang masquerading as protectors. What follows is a tense survival chase through forests, narrow lanes, and crowded marketplaces.
Prayagraj Ki Love Story is scheduled to premiere on Hungama OTT on January 8.
