Ranchi: Chief Electoral Officer K. Ravi Kumar reviewed progress of the ongoing ancestral mapping of voters with all EROs and assistant electoral officers on Wednesday. He said mapping current voters with the 2003
electoral roll is underway across Jharkhand and must be completed at the earliest. Some assembly constituencies have already achieved nearly 70 percent mapping, which will ease the process of filling enumeration forms
during the intensive revision of rolls.
Constituencies lagging behind were instructed to run focused voter-outreach programmes to speed up the exercise.Ravi Kumar stressed that any laxity in mapping will not be tolerated and timely completion is mandatory. He also asked officials to meet political parties and request them to expedite the appointment of Booth Level Agents to ensure greater transparency during the upcoming intensive revision mandated by the Election Commission of India.
The meeting was attended by Joint CEO Subodh Kumar, Deputy Electoral Officer Dheeraj Kumar Thakur, and EROs and assistant electoral officers from all districts.
