Garhwa: Pramod Kumar, the Circle Officer (CO) of Majhiwan block in Garhwa district, has been suspended following an incident in which he was allegedly caught in a compromising situation with his girlfriend three days ago. The suspension notification was issued by the Personnel, Administrative Reforms, and Official Language Department. The incident reportedly took place on the morning of November 1.
According to reports, Kumar’s wife caught him with a young woman named Muskan Sharma, a resident of Chandwa police station area in Latehar district, inside the official government residence. It is said that his wife entered the house around 4 a.m. by climbing over the wall and locked the door from outside. A dramatic confrontation ensued, drawing police and media personnel to the scene. While Kumar allegedly shouted from inside, his wife paid no heed. A video of the incident quickly went viral on social media.
Following the incident, Kumar’s wife filed an FIR at Majhiwan police station, alleging that her husband had pressured her to bring in ₹50 lakh as dowry. She also accused him of maintaining illicit relationships with multiple women, being frequently intoxicated, and keeping 100 grams of gold jewelry given by her father at the time of marriage without returning it. The FIR further alleges that Kumar did not carry out public work without bribes and was involved in corrupt activities. Muskan Sharma, the woman involved, is reported to work in an orchestra. In response to the public uproar, the administration has suspended CO Pramod Kumar with immediate effect.
