Ranchi: A meeting of the newly-appointed district presidents of the Congress party was held under the chairmanship of state Congress president Keshav Mahato Kamlesh on September 9. The event saw the presence of state in-charge R. K. Raju as the chief guest. Prior to the meeting, Raju, along with state in-charge Siri Bela Prasad and Keshav Mahato Kamlesh, inaugurated the newly constructed Lambodar Pathak Memorial Hall at the Congress Bhavan, built in memory of former MLA Late Lambodar Pathak, by Jay Shankar Pathak, chairman of the Hindu Religious Trust Board.
Addressing the district presidents, R. K. Raju emphasized that their appointment reflects their loyalty and dedication to the organization. He stressed that maintaining the trust of leadership and fulfilling responsibilities toward both the public and the party is paramount. He urged leaders and workers to maintain discipline, raise grievances through proper channels, and ensure the unity of party workers to send a positive message to the public.
Keshav Mahato Kamlesh highlighted the ongoing organizational restructuring under the Srijan Abhiyan, noting that most committees at the block and panchayat levels have been formed, with around 10–15% still pending. He announced that district-level political affairs committees will be established, and an eight-day training camp for the newly appointed district, mandal, and block leaders will be conducted to strengthen organizational skills.
State Congress spokesperson Sonal Shanti added that district presidents received instructions to implement campaigns such as “Vote Chaur Gaddi Chhod” at the panchayat level, form municipal committees, appoint BLAs, conduct block-level meetings in November, undertake thorough SIR reviews, maintain the party’s land records, and submit weekly progress reports.
The meeting and inauguration were attended by several senior leaders, including state co-in-charge Siri Bela Prasad, Minister Dr. Irfan Ansari, former state president Pradeep Kumar Balmuchu, Rajesh Jaleshwar Mahato, Bhandhu Tirkey, Shahzada Anwar, former minister Banna Gupta and others, along with all district presidents and observers.
