Kristen Bell Says It’s “Healthy” for Her Family to Explore Life Beyond Los Angeles

Los Angeles — Actress Kristen Bell believes that stepping away from the Hollywood bubble is important for her family’s well-being. The star, who shares two daughters — Delta and Lincoln — with her husband Dax Shepard, says spending time outside Los Angeles helps them reconnect and experience life differently.

“I think it’s really healthy for me and my family to burst our bubble often and get outside of the city of Los Angeles — as much as we love it — and just see the rest of the world,” Bell told People magazine.

This summer, the family spent time together at a lake in Tennessee, an experience Bell says her children adored. “We went to Tennessee for the summer and stayed on the lake, and my children are lake rats. They were in every morning, jumping in, getting way too close to the turtles, and collecting frogs,” she shared.

Describing their days by the water, Bell said: “The rhythm of the day was perfect — in the morning, we’d jump in the lake and go on the boat, get really sweaty, then shower and drive into Nashville, which is such a glorious city.”

Meanwhile, Shepard reflected on their marriage, calling it a lifelong success regardless of what the future holds. The 50-year-old actor, who married Bell in 2013, said on his Armchair Expert podcast, “If Kristen and I ever split up, I would still describe our relationship as an enormously successful one.”

He added that he will always treasure the years they’ve shared. “We loved each other to death. We had these two beautiful children. We had this great time together,” he said.
