PLFI Militant Surrenders in Simdega After 20 Years on the Run

Ranchi: A hardcore PLFI (People’s Liberation Front of India) militant, who had been absconding for over 20 years, surrendered to the police on Friday at Mahabuang police station in Simdega district. Simdega SP Mohammad Arshi, in a press briefing, revealed that the militant, identified as Abhiram Kandulna alias Abraham Kandulna, hails from Birnibeda village under Mahabuang police station limits.

Abhiram was a former active member of the banned extremist outfit PLFI and was involved in several serious criminal activities in the region. He had been named in at least three FIRs—Nos. 13/2005, 09/2006, and 04/2011—registered at Bano police station, including charges of murder and other grave offenses. A red warrant had also been issued for his arrest.

Despite being on the run for two decades, constant pressure from law enforcement forced him to surrender. After completing legal formalities, Abhiram was sent to judicial custody.
