Mumbai – Opal Suchata Chuangsri from Thailand, recently crowned Miss World 2025, has expressed her desire to visit several temples in India, including the iconic Ram Mandir in Ayodhya.
In a conversation with IANS following her victory, Chuangsri spoke about the deep cultural connections between India and Thailand.
“I would love to visit many temples here in India. I find them very charming. As I mentioned earlier, India and Thailand share many cultural traditions. It would be wonderful to explore and experience these places,” she said.
India and Thailand have enjoyed longstanding cultural and trade relations. In Thailand, the Indian epic Ramayana is known as Ramakien. Though based on the original narrative, Ramakien has evolved with its own unique Thai interpretations and cultural elements. Notably, Lord Hanuman holds a more prominent and often playful role in the Thai version.
Chuangsri also had a heartfelt message for the women of Telangana, the Indian state where the Miss World 2025 grand finale took place.
She said, “Meeting the women here in Telangana has been truly inspiring. Your strength, resilience, and inner beauty have deeply moved me. The support and kindness I’ve received from the women in India have been overwhelming. I believe they are strong and fully capable of achieving anything they aspire to.”
Opal Suchata Chuangsri was crowned Miss World 2025 in a dazzling ceremony held on Saturday in Hyderabad, Telangana. She emerged victorious over Hasset Dereje Admassu of Ethiopia, who was named the runner-up.
For the grand finale, Chuangsri wore a white gown embellished with floral designs resembling opals.
