Secretary Rural Development reviews budgetary allocation expenditure

Ranchi: Rural Development Secretary Prashant Kumar has instructed the officers of the department to continuously monitor the ongoing schemes. At the same time, he also asked to take initiative for efficient financial management and administrative reforms. He also stressed on keeping a close watch on government expenditure and rationalizing it.

Speaking in the review meeting he collected information detailing the amount spent against the plan-wise budget, approval order issued against the planned budget and the status of expenditure. The Secretary said that today the whole world is moving towards solar energy and work on this in Jharkhand should be started here as well.

He suggested starting it on a small scale. Presently it is being used on a small scale in the irrigation sector. Now the department should focus on minor irrigation also as better results can be obtained in this direction. In the meeting, he asked the Government of India for the approval order issued against the plan in the financial year 2022-23, the allocation order, the status of expenditure, the updated status of the implementation of the main schemes run by the department, the approval of the schemes and their implementation.

He gave instructions regarding the latest status of receipt of funds and its expenditure and preparation of the upcoming budget. Mnrega Commissioner Rajeshwari B, Special Secretary Ramkumar Sinha, Joint Secretary Arun Kumar Singh, Under Secretary Chandrabhushan, Deputy Secretary Pramod Kumar and other officers were present in the meeting.
