Khunti: The Government of India under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi has decided to honour the special place and contribution of tribes in Indian history and culture, and to inspire the new generation to preserve this cultural heritage and national pride. In the year 2021 it was decided to declare Bhagwan Birsa Munda’s birth anniversary on November 15 as “Tribal Pride Day”. The day will be celebrated every year and will recognize the efforts of tribals in preserving tribal cultural heritage and promoting valour, and national pride.
Under this, a picture exhibition was organized by the Central Bureau of Communications, Regional Office, Ranchi on November 15 at the Birsa College campus of Khunti which was inaugurated by former Deputy Speaker of Lok Sabha Kadiya Munda concluded on Saturday at the Town Hall in Khunti. Speaking at the closing ceremony chief guest Padma Bhushan Kadiya Munda said that the multimedia exhibition is a great effort to know the precious and golden heritage of the tribal society.
He said that concerted effort is required to encourage research on the contribution of tribal history, especially the tribal society of Jharkhand, in the struggle for freedom and to highlight their sacrifice and struggle to the masses. He said that Birsa Munda Complex should be built in Birsa Munda’s village Ulihatu where there should be an academy for research, a library and a museum. Padma Shri Madhu Mansuri, the special guest of the ceremony said that people should keep trying to save the water, forest and land and for this we should be alert.
He also enthralled everyone sitting in the hall with his folk song presentations. Students, officers and artistes of song and drama division performed dance on the folk song of Padmashree Shri Madhu Mansuri. Bhupendra Kainthola, Director General, Eastern Zone, Press Information Bureau and Central Bureau of Communications said that the new generation got valuable information through the exhibition. He said that the information given by the exhibition is informative as well as useful.
It has also been shown through the exhibition how the central government is constantly trying for the development of the tribal society and many schemes are being brought for them and a good increase has been made in the budget of the ongoing schemes for the development of the tribal society. Kainthola said that protecting the environment is the responsibility of all of us. We all can make this earth more beautiful with our combined efforts.
Additional Director General of PIB Akhil Kumar Mishra and Principal Madam of Khunti College also described the exhibition organized on the occasion of Tribal Pride Day as a very meaningful and beneficial initiative. Azadi Quest Online Mobile Games, an immersive digital learning experience developed by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting in association with Zynga
India was also showcased at the photo exhibition held at the Khunti Town Hall.
Azadi Quest is an entertaining and educative series of online mobile games that aims to provide a platform for players to know more about India’s journey to independence and the valor of Indian freedom fighters through fun-filled gameplay. Along with the contribution of national and local freedom fighters in freedom, service of poor and deprived people, women power, farmer welfare, health through Ayush and Yoga, etc., many prominent personalities and public representatives of the city in the multimedia photo exhibition.
Important information was broadcast continuously through LED walls and plasma TV was engaged in the multimedia exhibition. As a special part of the exhibition, a number of activities have been planned jointly with the state government to showcase the unique tribal cultural heritage, their contribution to the freedom struggle, practices, rights, traditions, cuisine, health, education and livelihood. During the exhibition, information related to public utility schemes was also given by the stalls of the Post Office, Gramin Bank and LIC Khunti etc.
