Ranchi: The Jharkhand government has planned to rejuvenate the central area of Ranchi under which one underpass each will be built near Kutchury Chowk and Jail Chowk. There is also a proposal to make two roads four lane.

The lane from Albert Ekka Chowk to Tank Talab Road will be four-laned. The road leading from the Commissioner’s Office to the Registry Office, Dr Zakir Hussain Park, will also be four-laned. Apart from this, an underpass will be built near Jail Chowk to go from Karam Toli to Jail Road.

The underpass will be built under Kutchury Chowk for going and coming from Radium Road towards Albert Ekka. The road leading to the old Municipal Corporation building from behind the line tank pond will also be widened. On the other hand, Netaji  Subhash Park near the court will be rejuvenated and the entire area will be developed as a green park.

Multi-level parking will be built in the District Education Superintendent’s office building. The main road passing in front of Ravindra Bhawan will be merged with the next road near Bihar Club. After the widening of these roads, the traffic system here will be smooth and normal. Along with these roads, electricity, optical fiber and other essential supplies will be provided underground in the utility duct.

There will also be beautification of the entire area. In order to make the main areas of the city attractive and to improve the traffic system, JUDCO has started work on it on the instructions of the Urban Development Department. Regarding these plans, Secretary, Urban Development Department, Vinay Choubey inspected the roads from Albert Ekka Chowk to Dr Zakir Hussain Park via Kachari Chowk on Saturday and gave necessary instructions to the officials.
