Jharkhand will be the biggest food processing hub in India: Raghubar

Ranchi, Sep 6: Jharkhand Chief Minister Raghubar Das visited the food processing unit of Sanquan company located in Zhengahou province.

Mr Das who was accompanied by a high level delegation to the plant spent around an hour in the plant during which he collected information on various aspects of food processing, packaging and quality testing etc. The officials of the company informed the Chief Minister about how the national standard of quality was maintained in processing and packaging of the products.

Chairman of the company Chen Zemin said that about 8,000 workers are employeed in this company and the firm has seven plants across China  and the annual turnover was about Rs 10,000 crore. The Chief Minister informed the chairman of the company regarding the vegetables which are produced in Jharkhand and the opportunities in the food processing sector.

He also detailed about the food processing policy and the other facilities which are being provided to the industries by the state government in Jharkhand and invited him to visit the state and explore the opportunities for investment. Mr Das extended invitation to the company chairman and his team to visit Jharkhand during the international food and agriculture summit on November 29-30 in Jharkhand.

Mr Das also assured the company officials that they will be provided all possible facilities in Jharkhand and said that a meeting with the local companies will also be organised so that not only investment but talks over technology transfer can also be held so that more and more investment can be brought into the sector. Mr Das said in the days to come Jharkhand will be the biggest food processing hub in the nation.
