Los Angeles – If you thought Cassie from the hit series Euphoria was intense before, get ready for an even wilder ride. Actress Sydney Sweeney, who plays the emotionally turbulent character, hinted that things are going to get even more dramatic in Season 3.
Appearing on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on Thursday, Sweeney was asked about returning to the show after a three-year break, according to Variety.
“Cassie is crazy,” Sweeney said frankly, drawing laughter from the audience. When Fallon asked if she’s still the same, she replied, “Oh, she’s even worse.”
Fallon then brought up a leaked photo showing Sweeney in a wedding dress on set, which has sparked online speculation that Cassie might marry Nate (played by Jacob Elordi) in the new season. “I can’t confirm or deny,” Sweeney said coyly, adding, “Who knows, that could be AI!” Fallon joked back, “No, it can’t.”
While fans eagerly await Season 3 of Euphoria, expected to release in 2026, Sweeney has a new project out — the Apple TV+ thriller Echo Valley, where she stars alongside Julianne Moore.
In the film, Sweeney’s character shows up at her mother’s (Moore) doorstep covered in blood, testing the limits of a mother’s love and protection. Talking about filming emotionally intense scenes, Sweeney admitted to Fallon, “I felt so bad… I’m really vicious,” she said. “It’s kind of psychotic. They say ‘Action!’ and I’m screaming and crying. Then they call ‘Cut!’ and I’m like, ‘What’s wrong?’”
She also confessed to being very competitive when it comes to playing games.
