Ramgarh police orders CCTV installation across stations,commercial areas

Ramgarh: After a detailed crime review meeting at Police Superintendent Office, Ramgarh, SP Ajay Kumar (IPS) directed all police station and outpost in-charges to install CCTV cameras at entry and exit points. In addition, shopkeepers and business establishments have been asked to set up CCTV cameras under Section 163 BNSS.

During the meeting, in-charges were instructed to conduct anti-crime checks at varying locations, scan QR codes using the Rakshak app, maintain vehicle check data, monitor NDPS seizures, and ensure safe transit for women, children, and elderly during nighttime. Citizens visiting stations must be provided seating, drinking water, and courteous assistance, while pending cases in theft, burglary, robbery, cyber fraud, POCSO, and other sensitive matters were reviewed for swift investigation and closure.

Police personnel were also guided to use NETGRID systems, update NAFIS with arrested persons’ fingerprints, utilize e-Sakshya app under new criminal law, and carry out strict action against illegal liquor, gambling, and drug offenses. Patrols and vehicle checks must remain active, with intelligence gathering on criminal gangs and monitoring ongoing development work to ensure public safety. VIP security protocols and monitoring of out-of-state suspects were emphasized.

SP Ajay Kumar highlighted achievements of the past month, noting teams who solved three or more cases were rewarded. A high-profile case involving the rape and murder of a woman in Bhadani Nagar led to the arrest of accused within 48 hours and subsequent judicial custody, with officers involved receiving individual commendations.

Officials present included Deputy SP (HQ) Ramgarh, Assistant SP-cum-Subdivisional Police Officer, Patratru, senior constables, traffic in-charges, all police station and outpost heads, and branch heads.
