MapmyIndia Mappls to Power Survey of India and Indian Oil with Digital Mapping and IoT Solutions

New Delhi— Homegrown digital mapping and geospatial technology company MapmyIndia Mappls on Tuesday announced strategic partnerships with two major government entities — the Survey of India (SoI) and Indian Oil Corporation Ltd (IOCL).

Under these agreements, MapmyIndia Mappls will digitally power the Survey of India’s National Geo Platform and provide IoT-based location intelligence solutions to Indian Oil. The collaborations aim to strengthen the company’s technological ecosystem and significantly expand its footprint in government and enterprise sectors.

According to the company, these new deals — combined with its ongoing partnership with the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) and an expected agreement with the Indian Railways — mark a major step forward in MapmyIndia’s efforts to deepen its role in national digital infrastructure.

Rakesh Verma, Co-founder and Chairman & Managing Director of MapmyIndia Mappls, said, “We are delighted to provide solutions and technology to two of India’s most important organisations — the Survey of India, the nation’s premier mapping agency for over two centuries, and the Indian Oil Corporation, India’s leading Maharatna energy company.”

Through its collaboration with the Survey of India, MapmyIndia Mappls will help standardise, manage, and share foundational geospatial datasets such as administrative boundaries, digital elevation models, geodetic reference frames, and geographical names. The platform will enable seamless access to accurate and authoritative spatial data via web services, APIs, and mobile applications — promoting interoperability and collaboration across government departments, academia, and industry.

For Indian Oil, the company will design and implement an enterprise-level vehicle tracking and management system for the corporation’s nationwide fleet of LPG transport vehicles. The IoT-based suite will include geofencing, route generation and optimisation, journey risk management, real-time fleet visibility, and emergency response features, enhancing driver safety, asset security, and cost efficiency.

With these partnerships, MapmyIndia Mappls continues to play a key role in powering India’s digital transformation, smart infrastructure, and location intelligence ecosystem.
