Ranchi: The people of the state capital are complaining of heat and hot weather conditions in the month of January itself thanks to the western disturbances being formed in the other northern states of the country.
Scientist at the local MET Department Abhishek Anand said that normally the temperature in Ranchi in the month of January remains below the 10 degrees mark however this time in the first week of the new year the temperature has gone upwards. He said that in the last two days the minimum temperature in the capital has gone up by 4 degrees due to which people were feeling less cold at night. Overall the minimum temperature was 7 degrees more than the normal which is likely to remain till January 12.
He said that during this period cloud cover will be noticed and even sun shine will also happen but the maximum temperature will remain around 29 degrees and the minimum around 16 degrees. The weatherman said that there are indications that the temperature will change after January 12.
As per the weather department in the month of December also average cold was witnessed in the first week but in the second week the temperature suddenly declined by six degrees and reached around 8 degrees while for the next one week it remained between 6-7 degrees, however due to Western Disturbance from December 24 onwards the temperature increased further. It was on December 29, 2014 Ranchi had recorded a minimum temperature of 4 degrees.
