Banks should play a role in development of women associated with self help groups: Chief Minister

Ranchi: Chief Minister Hemant Soren on Friday asked the banks to play a role in development of the women associated with self help groups especially in the rural areas.

  After inaugurating two branches of the private lender HDFC bank located at Line Tank Road and Singh Mode digitally he said that the state government was committed to make sure that students get their scholarships and pensioners their pensions on time and banks have an important role to play in making sure that the scholarship and pensions reach to the beneficiaries.

  He said that banks have an important role to play in the development of the state and asked the management of the bank to frame a plan so that farmers can be provide KCC cards as providing the farmers these KCC cards is a priority for the state government. Further he asked the bank to prepare a mechanism for marketing and branding of products manufactured by women of SHG.

  During the event head of the branch banking of HDFC Bank Sandeep Kumar detailed the Chief Minister regarding the various works which have been done under CSR initiative and assured that the bank will work shoulder to shoulder in the development of the state. He said that a data of CSR work being done by the bank will be provided to the state government.

  The Chief Minister asked the bank by establishing coordination with the state government as it will help to speed up development works and working together will also reduce all the hurdles. Those present also included Chief Secretary Sukhdeo Singh and others.
