Jharkhand government to take care of the child whose mother was lynched in Sahibganj

Ranchi, Aug 20: Jharkhand Chief Minister Raghubar Das announced that
the state government would take over the responsibility of the child
whose mother was on Saturday lynched in Sahibganj district of the
state.
The woman was beaten to death by an irate mob in Radhanagar of
Shaibganj over being a suspected ‘choti katwa’. Her 10 year old son
was also badly beaten up by the crowd. The Chief Minister has
expressed his condolence towards the death of the woman and described
it as  an unfortunate act.
He has urged the people of the state not to fall in trap of nay fake
rumours and in any circumstances refrain from taking the law in their
hands. He has warned of strict action against such people who would
take the law in their hands.
Mr Das said that the state government would bear all the expenses for
living and education of the child. He has also asked the district
administration to identify the culprits and take stringent of possible
action against them.
Few police had also sustained injuries in the incident in Sahibganj as
people started stone pelting on them. The woman Golwanti Devi (40) and
her son were begging in the area when they were caught by the people
over the charges of being choti katwa.
