EU film festival to be staged in Audrey House from Aug 18-26

Ranchi, Aug 17: An European Union Film Festival would be held at the
Audrey House of the state capital from August 18 to 26 during which a
total of 22 films would be exhibited.

Addressing a press conference IPRD Principal Secretary Sanjay Kumar
said that the EU had given a proposal regarding staging of this film
festival in Jharkhand. Moving ahead in this direction it has been
decided to stage the film festival from August 18-26 at the Audrey
House here, he said adding that as per the film policy of the state
government film and related activities were getting the right space in
the state. He said that during the film screenings which would be from
separate EU nations the film makers in Jharkhand would be able to
known the modern technology apart from the film presentation.

He said
that an interaction with the global scenario for Jharkhand and its
film would be main point of this festival, he said adding that events
like these not only promote film making but also boost up tourism and
increasing employment opportunities for the youth.

Mr Kumar said that in Jamshedpur also the EU film festival would be
held from August 22-30 at the Center for Excellence Auditorium. He
said that the film festival would provide a golden opportunity to the
students of Mass Comm and film technology and those involved in film
production and its technical aspects to know the techniques of
international film making.

The principal secretary said that the state government in
collaboration with Film Institute Pune and National Film archive would
organize a film appearance course for 80 trainees in the month of
Oct-Nov. He said that in future National Film Festival and Jharkhand
Film Festival would also be held in the state. Those present also
included IPRD Secretary Ram Lakhan Prasad Gupta, media advisor IPRD
Sudhir John Horro and others.
