Lohardaga : Ultras belonging to the CPI Maoists went on a rampage under Pesrar Police Station area of this district during which they set a poclain machine and a tractor on fire and also shot dead a staff of the construction company which was executing a bridge construction project in the area.
Though the incident had taken place on Tuesday night the body of deceased was found on Wednesday. Police said that a bridge was being constructed on a local river some distance away from the Pesrar Police Station.
On Tuesday night a group of armed maoists reached on the spot and set the poclain machine and tractor on fire after taking the workers hostage on gunpoint.
Later they took the Munshi identified as Vicky Gupta (20) some distance away from the spot and shot him dead. Vicky hailed from Nagaruntari and was the cousin of the contractor who was executing the bridge construction project.
Last year also the maoists had beaten Vicky Gupta. Before fleeing from the spot the maoists left pamphlets on the spot.
