60.20 pc voters in Bermo and 65.27 pc in Dumka have cast their votes: Hira Lal Mandal

Ranchi: Joint Chief Electoral Officer Hiralal Mandal on Tuesday said that average voter turnout of 60.20 percent in Bermo and 65.27 percent in Dumka (ST) during the bypolls.

He said that voting in Bermo was held from 0700hrs to 1600hrs while in Dumka it was held from 0700hrs to 1700hrs.

Addressing the media after the bypolls came to an end on these two seats he said that voters cast their votes on 368 polling booths in Dumka and another 468 booths in Bermo.

He said that arrangements of webcasting was made on 76 polling booths while on 87 booths in Dumka the webcasting was done. He said that due to the active participation of the voters, district administration and other people associated with the polls the polling has concluded peacefully.

Mandal said that in Dumka 96.81 percent PWD voters and in Bermo 80.24 percent PWD voters cast their votes. He said that PWD voters and senior citizens who opted for postal ballots in Dumka included 446 and in Bermo was 2,322.
