On Mahaashtami devotees make beeline across temples to offer obeisance to Maa Durga

Ranchi: Despite the administration coming out with different types of restrictions to prevent the people from entering the Puja pandals during which people set aside all the social distancing norms.

In wake of Mahaashtami and Mahanavmi devotees thronged the temples and Puja pandals to offer obeisance to the deity. The people were also seen without masks. Devotees said that when it comes to worshipping the deity any pandemic or disease does not matter.

The district administration had posted policemen outside the various Puja pandals while volunteers were also deployed outside. The different puja committees had also put up boards outside the venues asking the people not to come inside. The district administration had asked the Puja committees to make sure that devotees do not come inside or neither bhog or Khichdi is distributed.

In adjoining areas of Ranchi including Ratu, Namkum and Khelgaon Mode very little crowd of people was witnessed at the temples and Puja pandals. Most of the pandals this time had a sober look with no major electric decoration and heavy pandals. The idols also in most of the pandals was as per the guidelines of the administration.

At most of the spots, PCR vans were also posted. Due to Coronavirus, even enthusiasm was less among the people who preferred to remain in their homes and performed online Puja.
