Raghubar directs to distribute LED bulbs via PDS Shops

Ranchi, Mar 21: Jharkhand Chief Minister Raghubar Das has directed
that LED bulbs should be distributed through PDS shops in the state
and in the first phase the work should commence from Ranchi.
Chairing a review meeting of the energy department here he said
those investors who after the Momentum Jharkhand Summit want to set up
their plants they should be provided with uninterrupted power supply
and asked to ensure priority to such an investor who wants to set up a
transformer manufacturing facility which would enable ease storage pf
the transformers. He also asked the officials to take strict action
against those who are indulging in power theft and ensure that bill is
collect from every consumer.
Mr Das said that work should be done on a war footing so that
power reaches in every house of the state by December 2018 and
instructed that parallel construction of transmission lines and
sub-stations be also carried out. He said that the GMs and the
engineers should be given the responsibility that these projects are
completed on time. He said that in far flung areas where transmission
work was on the police would cooperate in protection of equipment. Mr
Das said that time should be wasted in the name of carrying out survey
and work should commence in such areas without any delay where survey
work has been completed. He said that such contractors whose work was
not satisfactory they should be black listed.
The officials of the department said that to prevent power theft
metering of 1040 transformers has been done and for 30 cities the work
of GIS consumer induction and asset mapping has been done. Mr Das
pointed out that it is often found that companies also do not provide
materials on time due to which the work is delayed he said that an
official from the company can be appointed so that there is no delay
in equipment supply. He also instructed to increase number of godowns
for storage so that it can save time for reaching the material the
spot. He asked the officials to visit the spot once and make physical
verification of the progress in work.
Mr Das also reviewed the progress in implementation of Deendayal
Gram Jyoti Yojana and works related to construction of other
transmission lines. He directed that to complete the transmission
projects on time the help of Nabard, REC, PFC and World Bank can also
be taken.
Those present included Chief Secretary Rajbala Verma, Additional
Chief Secretary Amit Khare, Additional Chief Secretary Power R K
Srivastav and Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister Sanjay Kumar.
