High Court orders CID probe into murder of woman and three minor children in Giridih

Ranchi: The Jharkhand High Court on Wednesday ordered a CID probe into the murder of a woman and three minor children which had taken place in Giridih district.

The father of the woman Chandrika Yadav had filed a petition in the High Court accusing the investigating officer of deliberately not arresting the accused and all the culprits were openly roaming and had urged the court to direct for an impartial probe.

The bench of justice Anand Sen sought answers from Giridih SP over video conferencing as to why the named accused have not been arrested. Justice Anand Sen pointed out that the culprits were roaming free and threatening the witnesses over which police was sitting idol.

The SP said that during supervision the SDPO had found that the deceased woman had extramarital affair due to which she had a fight with her husband after which she had committed suicide. The court raised strong objections over the manner in which the entire case has been probed.

The court later asked the DGP to appear before the court who assured that the case would be probed by the CID. The court directed to keep the investigating officer and the officer who had done supervision in the case away from the investigation and action would be taken against them as per the law.
