Jharkhand has made rapid progress in two and half years : Raghubar

Ranchi, JUl 21: Jharkhand Chief Minister Raghubar Das said that due to the political instability of the previous 14 years Jharkhand could not make desired progress however the permanent government over the last two and half years has taken the state to new heights of development.

Chairing a meeting with V K Shraswat member of the Niti Aayog, Mr Das said that there has been a change in the policy making and now the Niti Aayog was coming to the states and collecting information regarding the problems and priorities of the state whereas earlier the planning commission use to hold financila review meeting of the states in New Delhi for which the Prime Minister needed to be thanked.

The Chief Minister said that over the last 70 years development has been neglected in Jharkhand and it was former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee who laid the foundation of this state. He said that in the last 30 months the state has attained new heights of development but still cooperation was needed in the areas of education and health which are an important indicator for any state.

He said that many steps have been taken for development by the government and the state was among the top performers in several areas in the country. Mr Das said that that the government was working to provide electricity in all homes and making all the districts ODF. He said that improvement has been made in women literacy rate and the government was also working for education of the girls and the tribals.
