MET warns of rainfall and lightning for next three days in Jharkhand

Ranchi: The local MET department has issued a warning regarding rainfall and thunderstorms which would continue in the state for the next three days.

The department has issued a ‘yellow warning’ for the Santhal Pargana division, Kolhan and North and South Chottanagpur divisions.

Further, the farmers who are working in the fields have been asked to remain away from trees and take shelter at safe places. It has been also suggested by the MET department to download the ‘Damini App’ so that they can get the lightning alert on their smartphones.

The weather department had predicted light to medium range of rainfall in Ranchi and its adjoining areas in one or two spells which would be also accompanied by thundering and lightning. However, there would be no difference in the day and night temperatures.

In the last 24 hours Tilayia received a maximum rainfall of 64.6mm followed by Ramgarh 60mm, Tenughat 40mm etc. Bokaro was the coolest at 24.1 degrees while Jamshedpur was hottest at 36 degrees.
