Government of Jharkhand participates in Textile India 2017 as focus state

Ranchi, Jun 30: The Government of Jharkhand participated in Textile
India 2017 as focus state.

Jharkhand delegation was led by Sanjay Seth, Chairman, Jharkhand State
Khadi Board, other members of delegation included K Ravi kumar,
Director Industries, Ms Renu Gobi Panikkar,  Rajendra Prasad, Deputy
Director, Industries. Jharcraft, Kadhi Board.

Six designers from Jharkhand Mulberry lifestyle, Pinnacle, Ponam
dubey, Matri, Rangrej and Cocccon, Creativity can care had displayed
their products in textile India 2017.

Mr Sanjay Seth represented Jharkhand in the inaugural function and
shared stage with dignitaries including Prime Minister, Narendra Modi,
Vijay Rupani, Chief Minister of Gujarat, Chandrababu Naidu, Chief
Minister, Andhra Pradesh, Smriti Zubin Irani Union Minister of
Textiles, Ajay Tamta, Minister of state for Textiles and other
dignitaries. While making speech in the inaugural function, the Prime
Minister mentioned that  “Jharkhand is known for Tusar silk”.

The Prime Minister visited Jharkhand stall and saw displayed designer
garments, tusar sarees, and other materials made in Jharkhand. Mr
Subhash Deshmukh, Minister for Co-operaiton, Marketing and textiles,
Government of Maharastra also visited Jharkhand stall.

Many B2G meeting was conducted, among them, meeting with Rajesh
Lalbhai of M/s S.Rajesh & Co was encouraging. He promised to give work
order to atleast 3000 cotton handloom weavers on continuous basis. He
will be visiting Jharkhand to finalise the details with Jharcraft and
Department of Industries, Mines and Geology.
