Ranchi: Jharkhand Governor Draupadi Murmu has described Coronavirus as a difficult challenge before the world community however she said that amid the crisis it was a great initiative to provide education to the students through the E-learning platform.
Reviewing the works undertaken in the area of higher education and university reforms said that the entire world is grappling with Coronavirus and even India is not spared from the pandemic. She said that due to the crisis the students and the teachers have been forced to remain in their homes therefore E-learning has turned out to be an effective medium to teach the students.
However, she said that in a state like Jharkhand E-learning has not been able to prove effective as many students live in backward and far-flung areas where such facilities are not available but despite that whatever technology is available that should be used in the interest of the students.
Adding further she said that there was a need to pay attention to the appointment and promotion of the teachers. She said that where there was no need for specialized teachers those cases can be speedily solved.
She also raised her concern over the payment related issue of the teachers who have been appointed on a per hour basis. The governor also directed to solve the pending issues related to the long-pending settlement dues of the teachers.
