Coronavirus mayhem in Jharkhand: New record of 247 patients detected in single day as overall tally reaches 4,225, 3 deaths also reported

Ranchi: Tuesday created a new record as far as detection of Coronavirus patients was concerned in the state as on a single day a total of 247 patients spread across 23 out of 24 districts of Jharkhand tested positive for Covid-19 after which the overall tally has now reached 4,225.

During the day 3 deaths were also reported including 1 each from Dhanbad, East Singhbhum and Ranchi districts after which the overall death count has gone upto 36 in the state.
Gumla turned out to be the only district where no case was detected during the day. As per the data provided by the health department the number of active cases in the state was 1,761 while number of cured and discharged cases stood at 2,428. The total number of death caused by Coronavirus in the state stood at 36.

During the day a maximum number of 59 cases were reported in Ranchi district followed by 33 in Latehar, 26 in Koderma, 21 in Giridih and 19 in East Singhbhum district. 11 cases each were also found in Pakur and Dhanbad while 10 cases were detected in Chatra district. 6 patients each were found in Ramgarh, Godda and Sahebganj districts while 5 patients each were detected in Bokaro, Lohardaga and Garhwa districts.

4 patients each were found in Dumka and Hazaribagh, 3 each in Deoghar, Palamu and Saraikela, 2 each in Jamtara, Simdega and West Singhbhum districts and 1 in Khunti district.

Out of the total 4,225 cases which have been detected 2,245 have been brought by migrant workers coming from the various Coronavirus hotspots in the country including Maharashtra, Gujarat, Delhi and Tamilnadu.
On Tuesday 77 people were cured and discharged from various dedicated Covid-19 facilities in the state including 18 from Koderma, 12 each from  East Singhbhum and Hazaribagh. 9 from Giridih, 7 each from Sahebganj and Ranchi, 5 from Ramgarh, 3 from Khunti, 2 from Simdega and 1 each from Dumka and East Singhbhum districts also defeated Coronavirus and returned back to their homes.

The recovery rate among the Covid-19 patients has further down to 57.44 percent in the state.

The samples are being currently tested in the state at government facilities including  MGM Jamshedpur, RIMS Ranchi, PMCH Dhanbad and Itki Arogyashala Ranchi while samples are also being tested in different private labs in the state.

Jharkhand had reported its first Coronavirus case on March 31 as a Malaysian woman had tested positive for Covid-19.

So far in the state 2,02,102 samples have been collected out of which 1,89,851 have been tested and 1,85,626 have turned out to be negative.

The data further pointed that number of travellers under surveillance and asymptomatic was at 5,595 while people who have completed 28 days of compulsory observation stood at 4,306. The number of people in facility quarantine was at 24,550 while those in home quarantine was 2,74,550.
