Guv and CM offer tributes to Bhagwan Birsa Munda on his death anniversary

Ranchi. Jun 9: Jharkhand Governor Draupadi Murmu and Chief Minister Raghubar Das offered floral tributes to Bhagwan Birsa Munda on his death anniversary here.

 

The duo reached the Samadhi Sthal of Birsa Munda located ay Kokar here and offered their tributes and also garlanded his statue.

Speaking on the occasion Mr Das said that Bhagwan Birsa Munda gave up his life to fight against exploitation, poverty and bondage. He wanted to create a society which would be free from exploitation and poverty and also wanted to keep his culture intact. Therefore efforst should be made so that teh culture of the state is not influences from outside, Mr Das said.

 

The Chief Minister said that by following on the path showed by him the Jharkhand of his dreams would be built. He said that Jharkhand was moving ahead on the path of progress and there was a need to extend cooperation by all the stakeholders in this development journey.

Later the duo reached Birsa Chowk of the state capital where they garlanded the statue of Birsa Munda. Later the Governor in a function organised at Darbar Hall of the Raj Bhawan garlanded teh statue of Bhagwan Birsa Munda.

 

Former Jharkhand Chief Minister Arjun Munda alongwith his wife Meera Munda too offered tributes at Samadhi Sthal of Birsa Munda at Kokar. Later Mr Munda reached Birsa Chowk and garlanded the statue of Biras Munda.
