Set up call center to address power related grievances: Raghubar

Ranchi, Jun 6: Chief Minister Raghubar Das said that since power department was related with the people therefore there should be no gap between the people and the department and suggested that a call center be set up to address the grievances of the people.

Reviewing the functioning of the power department here he said that people should be informed regarding the reasons for power cut and the time which would be taken to solve the issue. He suggested that a toll free number be issued so that people can get information and instructed the officials to solve all the complaints of the department. He said that corruption would not be tolerated at any level and strict action would be taken no matter how big the official is while on the other hand better working officials would be awarded. Mr Das said that to solve the problem of the manpower 1000 people would be hired for the department.

The Chief Minister said that complaints related to transformers has reduced in the state due to which role of middle men has been reduced as no longer people complaint about burnt transformers. Directing the officials to complete the pending electrification projects in the state he said that plans needed to be framed for 4-5 years and said that electrical equipment be purchased as per need. He said that since many investors are coming to the state therefore the department should work on creating separate grids for power and agriculture sectors.
