People having more than one vehicle would have to pay more taxes: Raghubar

Ranchi, Jun 5: Jharkhand Chief Minister Raghubar Das said that people having more than a vehicle would have to pay more taxes.

 

Addressing a function organised on the occasion of the World Environment Day he said that the government would soon frame rules in this regard and added that the AC vehicles are also responsible for the changing environment of the state. He said that the rising vehicles are creating problems for traffic and also for environment for which the government would soon constitute a task forces after establishing coordination with the various department.

He said that the task force which would be headed by the Chief Secretary would work for environment audit. He said that the rising temperature was a concern for everyone which was mainly due to the changing life style.

 

The Chief Minister said that Jharkhand has been blessed by mother nature and said that it has been tradition and culture of the state to worship nature. He said that the state government was committed to protect the environment of the state. He said that if the people do not pay attention now than the future generations would not have a safer earth..

 

He said that all the efforts are possible with cooperation of the people. He said that the state government has framed many acts for environment protection but now time has come for action. He suggested that with optimum utilisation of the resources the environment can be saved. He said that his government was making efforts to hand over a naturally rich Jharkhand to the upcoming generations.

The Chief Minister  said that the government was giving stress on clean energy. He said that LEd lights not also reduce bill but also create less pollution. He said that for water conservation and maintain ground water 6 lakh dhobas would be constructed and added that the government was also undertaking massive plantation drives in the state.
