CS asks officials to fix responsibility at all levels for execution of schemes

Ranchi, May 29: Chief Secretary Rajbala Verma has directed that
responsibility of the officials be fixed from village level to
district level so that they also monitor the progress in
implementation of the schemes.
She said action should be taken on sahiyas, rojgar sevaks, panchayat
volunteers and BRP/CRP be fixed and they should be made active. The
Chief Secretary made these comments while chairing a review meeting
with the DCs via video conferencing.
Reviewing the functioning of the social welfare department she said
that the responsibility of the Sahiyas be fixed regarding ANC,
vaccination, institutional delivery and a campaign should be launched
for identifying the malnourished children so that a data base can be
prepared regarding the underweight and under height  children and
steps can be taken for their betterment. She said that for their
monitoring a cell should be formed at the departmental level and said
that Sahiays who do not perform better should be relieved from the
job. She said that worst performing 50 blocks have been identified and
said that ICTRM software has been installed at 6,500 anganwadi
kendras.
Over the functioning of the higher education department she said that
land has been identified for setting up 38 degree colleges at the
district level and  from the month of July at least 19 such colleges
would start functioning. She said that for admission is such colleges
the girls of Kasturba Gandhi schools and other residential schools be
encouraged and the task of counselling be commenced from  June month.
In the meeting it was directed that for skill development training
unused government buildings be identified and provided to the agencies
concerned.
