HC takes cognisance of cave in Dhanbad incident of Dhanbad

Ranchi/Dhanbad, May 25: The Jharkhand High Court has taken suo motto cognisance regarding the cave in incidentr of Dhanbad in which a father and his son were buried alive.

 

The court has issued notices to the CS, DGMS, CCL, BCCL and has sought to know teh steps taken to prevent such kinds of incidents in future.

Meanwhile  rescue efforts to save the man and his son 12 year old son who were buried due to a cave in which occurred at Indira Chowk located on Jharia-Sindri road  of this district has been stopped despite attempts being made by the team of the NDRF.

 

A 21 member team of the NDRF commence the rescue work in the morning but after several hours with the increase in gas leakage and rising temperature they could not get inside the cave-in after which the district administration and teh family members agreed to stop the rescue work.

A cheque of Rs 2 lakh each announced as compensation by Chief Minister Raghubar Das was handed over to the family members by Dhanbad MP P N Singh Apart from that the BCCL management also gave Rs one lakh each.

 

The incident took place on Wednesday as Rahim who was returning after having a tea at a near by shop got buried in teh ground due to sudden cave in

his father Babloo Khan rushed to saved  him but he too got buried.

The district administration later commenced the task to fill up the area.
