Ranchi (IANS): The legislators of Congress, Jharkhand Mukti Mukti Morcha (JMM), former IPS officials on Wednesday joined BJP.

Jharkhand Congress suffered big setback on Wednesday as the former state party president and legislator Sukhdeo Bhagat joined BJP. Another senior Congress leader and legislator Manoj Yadav joined BJP. Yadav was Minister during undivided Bihar.

What is interesting is that both Sukhdeo Bhagat and Manoj Yadav had fought the 2019 Lok Sabha election from Lohardagga and Chatra. Both were unhappy as according them party leaders had spoiled their prospect in the Lok Sabha poll.

The joining of legislators and former bureaucrats took place in presence of Chief Minister Raghubar Das, party election in charge Nand Kishore Yadav and state president Lakshman Giluwa. The JMM legislator Kunar Sarangi and independent legislator Bhanu Pratap Shahi also joined the BJP.

Former DGP, D.K. Pandey, former IPS officials and Congress leader Arun ORaon and retired IAS officials Suchitra Sinha also joined the BJP.

“ Today is an important day for BJP. The veteran leaders of Congress Sukhdeo Bhagat and Manoj Yadav, JMM legislator, former IAS and IPS officials have joined the party. They are joining the BJP for development and nationalism issue” said the Chief Minister.

He said “ the 2014 and 2019 Lok Sabha polls negated the caste, religion, dynasty politics and chose the development politics. The legislators are joining BJP for development, nationalism and stable govt”.
