Jharkhand HC takes cognisance of surrender of Kundan Pahan

Ranchi, May 15: The Jharkhand High Court has taken suo-motto cognisance over the surrender of dreaded Maoists Kundan Pahan.

The HC has taken cognisance after various media reports. Advocate Hemant Kumar Sikarwar has raised this issue  before the court after which he was asked to give a presentation over the issue to the court.

 

 

Kundan Pahan carrying a bounty of Rs 15 lakh had surrendered before the Jharkhand Police on Sunday. As per teh surrender policy of the state government he was given a cheque of Rs 15 lakh. Kundan who was wanted in 128 cases lodged in various districts of the state including Ranchi, Khunti and Chaibasa.

 

On the other hand the people who have lost their near and dear ones are protesting against the surrender of Kundan Pahan. Many people including current AJSU MLA Vikas Singh Munda whose father Ramesh Singh Munda was killed by Kundan has sat on a indefinite fast demanding a CBI probe into the entire drama behind surrender.

On the other hand the JMM too has raised questions over the issue. JMM spokesperson Bindo Pandey went on to allege that BJP for its political instrest had staged the drama of surrender of Kundan Pahan.
