Raghubar Das calls for establishment of ED office in Ranchi

Ranchi, May 8: Jharkhand Chief Minister Raghubar Das has demanded that
a an office of the Enforcement Directorate by set up in Ranchi so that
it can help to seize the properties of the Maoists in the state.
Addressing the meeting of the Chief Ministers of the Maoists hit
states called by Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh at New Delhi Mr Das
said that keeping in mind the rapid increase in cultivation of opium
in Ranchi and surrounding districts of the state a full fledged
department of Narcotis Control Bureau (NCB) be also opened in the
state.
Mr Das said that in all the Maoist hit areas regular monitoring is
being conducted personally by the Chief Secretary, DGP and other
concerned officials. The state government has decided that all states
which are located in two kilometre radium of the neighbouring states of
Bihar, west Bengal, Odisha and Chhattisgarh would be developed and mor
forward camping sites would be opened in the forest and hilly area.
Elaborating the challenges being faced in the fight against the
Maoists the Chief Minister said that many Maoists have left the ranks
and formed their own outfit which indulge in violet activities and
collect levy which included TPC, JPC, PLFI and JJMP for which there
was a  need for the center to extend cooperation o the stat ein fight
against Maoists.
The Chief Minister demanded that ACA be reestablished in LWE
districts, while the cost of posting central para military forces
indulged in fight against the Maoists should be waived off keeping in
mind the financial condition of the state and for use of police
helicopters in anti-Maoists operations facilities be provided under
SRE.
The Chief Minister demanded an aerial monitoring unit be ste up in
Ranchi and also demanded basic infrastructure be built up for the
special forces in the districts of Jharkhand under SIS scheme. He also
demanded that rebate should be provided in implementation of the
schemes which would be implemented in 13 focus areas of the state on
the likes of the Saranda action plan. He also called for modernisation
of Madrsassas in FPI hit districts of Paku and Sahibganj.
