Dist Administration uses garlands to create awareness about cleanliness

Ranchi, May 7: The district administration came up with an unique idea
to create awareness regarding cleanliness and encourage people to use
toilets rather than going out in the open.
As part of the initiative the team of district officials reached the
Itki Block and caught people who were doing toilet in open and
garlanded them. Though some of them objected to the move but they were
pacified after the officials explained the purpose of the initiative
while few other who too were doing toilet in open fled away from the
spot.
Despite a warning to the people in Itki block the residents failed to
mend their ways following which the team of the district
administration reaches at the spot. The team included DC Manjo Kumar,
SDO Bhor Singh Yadav and BDO and CO of the area.
Later addressing the people at the block headquarters DC Manoj Kumar
said that the block has to be made ODF free under the Swach Bharat
Mission for which cooperation of all was needed. He said that under
the programme the government was paying Rs 12,000 for building
individual toilets of which they should take advantage and prevent
from being facing embarrassment in the public.
