Jharkhand fashion fest to promote local designers

Ranchi, May 4: In-order to provide international and national stage to
the designers from the state and establish Jharkhand as a textile
destination the Jharcraft would be organizing a five day Jharkhand
Fashion Festival from May 25-29 here.
Addressing a press conference here Jharcraft MD K Ravikumar said that
the festival which would be inaugurated by Chief Minister Raghubar Das
would be held at BNR Chankaya Hotel. He said that the demand for
tussar silk of the state hasĀ  increased in international market and in
February it got the status of organic silk. He said tat in this five
day festival the local designers would get a chance to showcase their
talent and the clothes prepared by the designers would be depicted at
the spot.
He said that during the event the designer clothes of Jharcraft would
be made online vailable on amazon.com which would provide national and
international market to the clothes of the Jharcraft. The products of
the Jharcraft would be depicted across two dozen stalls which would be
erected during that period.
Mr Kumar sauid that the Jharkhand Fashion Festival is being organized
to ensure progress of the handicrafts and clothes industry at the
national and international in collaboration with the state government
and the Jharcraft. The Industries Department of the state government
would also be extending its cooperation in the event.
Those present in the press conference included CEO Jharcraft Renu
Gopinath Panikar and Director IPRD Rajeev Lochan Bakshi.
